Welcome to our little corner of the internet. We really hope you enjoy peeking into this millennial gypsy adventure of ours as much as we love living it!
When we first made the decision to go on this wandering adventure, we wanted to figure out a way to really keep track of this time period of our lives. Someday we want to be able to fondly look back at all the memories we are making and what better way to do that then to put it on the internet where nothing ever gets erased, right?
So here we are, travel blogging!
It all started in early 2017 when Josh, who is in the Navy, got new orders stating that he would be sent on temporary duty for at least four months before being relocated again. In the past, every time he has been sent out for an extended period of time, I (Allison) go on my own little travel adventures to see friends and family.
I mean, let’s be honest: why stay in an empty house all alone for months if nothing is keeping me there? We don’t have kids yet and we’ve moved around so much I have never really stopped long enough in one spot to hold down a job.
So once we found out Josh would be staying in hotels during his travels, we thought it would be a great adventure to just pack our house up, put everything into storage, and travel around together. There is no point in being apart if we don’t have to be.
It was about this time we began to joke that we were going to be “millennial gypsies”. Wandering around with only what we could fit into our Prius. Camping out in different cities and different hotels. All while capturing beautiful moments on our iPhones.
But at some point it stopped becoming a joke and started becoming the new tagline for this chapter of our lives.
We’ve done our fair share of travelling in the past and even stayed in a hotel for two straight months but this time is going to be a little different. This time we don’t know when it will end. This time we don’t have a house to go back to. This time we’re not just travelling. This time it’s different. We’re throwing caution to the wind. We’re seeking adventures. We are living on the road.
We are Millennial Gypsies.
